When a programme slips, the question is rarely whether there was delay — it is whose delay, on the critical path, and worth how many days. Answering it well is forensic work: method, evidence and discipline, not assertion.
How I approach it
Entitlement follows the critical path, so the analysis starts there — a recognised method chosen for the timing and records, applied consistently, with each day traced from cause to critical-path effect. On the Riyadh City programme in Abu Dhabi, a 291-day contractor claim across 21 delay events and 13 milestones was assessed in detail to a 64-day entitlement, subsequently approved — a figure that sat between the Engineer’s 67-day assessment and the independent forensic specialist’s 60-day assessment. On the Hudayriyat West velodrome, a separate contractor position was reduced from 426 days to 91 on the evidence. Not because events were invented, but because the analysis was built to survive scrutiny.
