A controls function is only as good as the operating model behind it. PMO leadership is about building that foundation — the standards, systems, cadence and, above all, the people — so that controls run consistently across every contract and package.
How I approach it
I establish the model, then lead the teams that run it — up to fifteen professionals, including twelve senior planners on one programme — holding common standards across many contracts so the numbers are comparable and the assurance is trusted. Good PMO leadership makes quality a property of the system, not of who happened to look this month.
