A schedule is a claim about the future. Schedule assurance is the discipline of testing that claim before it is believed — checking logic, float, constraints, durations and progress against a defined standard, so a programme’s dates mean something.
How I approach it
I make “good” explicit and repeatable: a published quality standard based on the DCMA 14-point checks, layered with programme-specific rules, applied the same way every cycle — increasingly through automation, so quality becomes a baseline everyone works to rather than a monthly argument.
